The city police have announced diversion of vehicular traffic on October 9, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in view of the visit of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin for inaugurating the Avinashi Road Flyover.Buses and other heavy vehicles entering the the city from Neelambur from L & T Bypass will have to pass through Chinthamanipudur, Ondipudur, Singanallur, Ramanathapuram, and Sungam, and move to the right side towards K.R. Road, Avinashi Road and Anna Statue to reach Gandhipuram.Light vehicles entering the city from L & T Bypass will be diverted at Thottipalayam Pirivu towards Kalapatti Four Roads and Vilankurichi.Buses and other heavy vehicles exiting the city from Gandhipuram via Avinashi Road will be required to take a ‘U’ turn at Lakshmi Mills and pass through Puliakulam, Ramanathapuram, Singanallur, and L & T Bypass Road. Likewise, vehicles from Gandhipuram passing through Sathy Road will be routed to L&T Bypass through Ganapathy, Water Tank, Vilankurichi, Kalapatti Four Roads.Light vehicles and city buses moving towards Avinashi Road will be required to take a ‘U’ turn at Tidel Park and pass through Kamarajar Road and Singanallur.Heavy vehicles will not be permitted along Vilankurichi, Thaneerpandal, Gandhi Maanagar and CODISSIA, and will be diverted through Kalapatti Four Roads and Thenampalayam. Light vehicles moving towards Avinashi Road from Thaneerpandal will be permitted along CODISSIA from Gandhi Maanagar and Pioneer Mills.Both heavy and light vehicles proceeding from Ukkadam via Athupalam and Sundarapuram to Pollachi Road will be diverted to the left at Kurichi Pirivu towards Pothanur Kadaiveedhi, Rail Kalyanamandapam, Chettipalayam and Eachanery, to reach the Service Road.Heavy as well as light vehicles entering the city from Pollachi Road will be diverted at the Karpagam College Junction towards Service Road. The vehicles will have to take a ‘U’ turn in front of Eachanari Temple, and move along Chettipalayam Road, Rail Kalyanamandapam, Pothanur, Nanjundapuram Road and Ramanathapuram to enter the city.Buses and other heavy vehicles from Madukkarai Market will be routed via Pillayarpuram Checkpost, Sugunapuram, Kovaipudur Pirivu, Kuniamuthur and Puttuvikki to enter the city.Light vehicles will be diverted to the left at Masampalayam Pirivu along Gnanapuram and Palakkad Road Published - October 06, 2025 11:27 pm IST
