A woman who hurtled her car into a fellow motorist in an early morning road rage spat has been jailed for three and a half years.Mother of one Lauren Willis, 28, ploughed her Volkswagen Golf into an Audi driver, hurling him from the windscreen, after they clashed near a petrol station in Sittingbourne, Kent.Detectives have welcomed a judge's decision to now put her behind bars - and called for Willis to 'reflect upon' her behaviour that day and now 'amend her ways'.Kent Police said the pair had argued over Willis' driving before heading off in the same direction - then both stopped near the Bobbing roundabout on the A249 and got out of their cars to continue the dispute. An 'altercation' between them took place before Willis got back into her vehicle and drove towards the man in May last year. The victim, a scaffolder, suffered injuries to his face, teeth and hands when thrown from his car's windscreen and landing on the road - before Willis then fled the scene.Emergency services attended at about 5am and the man was taken to hospital, from where he was later discharged.Police launched an investigation that led to Willis being arrested two days later in Ware, Hertfordshire, 60 miles away - after her car had been found abandoned near the scene of the attack, with a smashed windscreen. Lauren Willis, 28, has been jailed for three and a half years after pleading guilty to GBH with intent - having driven her car at a fellow motorist in a 'road rage' rowShe was charged in June last year and later pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent, at Maidstone Crown Court in Kent.Judge Julian Smith has now sentenced Willis, from Gillingham, to three years and six months in prison and disqualified her from driving for five years and nine months.Detective Constable Rob Sircar, from Kent Police, said afterwards: 'Willis' driving that morning was nothing less than appalling.'She put her victim through a terrifying ordeal, and it is only by good fortune that the consequences were not far worse.'I'm pleased that Willis has been jailed and that she will be prevented from getting behind the wheel upon her release.'I hope it brings a sense of comfort to those who have been affected by her behaviour, whilst giving her time to reflect upon her actions and amend her ways.'
