The Supreme Court has rejected Ghislaine Maxwell's appeal after she claimed she was wrongly prosecuted for sex trafficking.
The court declined to explain why they turned Maxwell's appeal down, as is their custom.
The British socialite is serving a 20-year prison sentence after she was convicted of trafficking girls as young as 14 to her boyfriend Jeffrey Epstein.
Her lawyers claim that a deal Epstein struck with federal prosecutors in Florida should have stopped her from being charged in New York.
Maxwell's attorney, David Oscar Markus, told the BBC he is 'deeply disappointed', but would continue exploring legal avenues 'to ensure that justice is done'.
