Ex Loose Women star Saira Khan faced a furious backlash from viewers today as she branded flag-raisers 'a bunch of saddos who drink a lot' when backing Gary Neville's claim that 'angry middle-aged white men' are dividing Britain.

Saira, 55, appeared on Jeremy Vine's Channel 5 chat show this morning alongside journalist James Max, 55, as the trio discussed the former Manchester United and England defender's comments.

Neville, 50, posted a video on LinkedIn on Friday - around 24 hours after Syrian-born terrorist Jihad Al-Shamie attacked Jewish worshippers at a synagogue in Manchester - in which he said division is 'mainly created by angry, middle-aged white men, who know exactly what they’re doing'.

After playing the clip, Jeremy asked his panellists for their thoughts, to which Saira replied: 'Well, I agree with him. I really applaud Gary Neville talking about topics that other people just shy away from.

'I'm British-born, born in the 70s and look, flying the flag a lot of people do not have a problem with it and in this country historically we fly flags when it's a national sporting event, jubilees, etc. Nobody has a problem with it, but this just feels, at this time, led by certain groups of people to be divisive and I completely agree with him.'
