GENEVA: The UN Human Rights Council decided Monday to set up an investigation to gather evidence on allegations of human rights violations in Afghanistan. A draft resolution put forward by the European Union calling for “an independent investigative mechanism for Afghanistan” was adopted without a vote by the 47-country Geneva-based council.
