Kimberly Hébert Gregory, an actress known for her roles on HBO's "Vice Principals" and the ABC series "Kevin (Probably) Saves the World," has died. She was 52.
Gregory's ex-husband, Chester Gregory, announced the news on his verified Instagram account and said she died on Friday, Oct. 3. No cause of death was given. He remembered her as "brilliance embodied" and "a Black woman whose mind lit every room." The former couple shared a son together, according to the post.
USA TODAY has reached out to representatives for both the actress and Chester Gregory for confirmation, as well as Black Rebirth Collective, a nonprofit organization she founded.
Gregory starred as school principal Belinda Brown on "Vice Principals," an HBO show that premiered in 2016 and also starred Danny McBride and Walton Goggins. It aired for two seasons.
Gregory also played Yvette opposite Jason Ritter on "Kevin (Probably) Saves the World," which aired on ABC from 2017 to 2018.
