Amit Shah asks Maoists to accept ‘lucrative surrender-rehabilitation policy’

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday (October 4, 2025) ruled out talks with Maoists and said they will have to lay down weapons after accepting the government’s “lucrative surrender and rehabilitation policy“. Addressing the ‘Bastar Dussehra Lokotsav’ and ‘Swadeshi Mela’ in Jagdalpur, the headquarter of Chhattisgarh’s Bastar district, he asserted that March 31, 2026 has been set as the deadline to bid farewell to the menace of Maoism.

Political parties express consensus over holding Bihar Assembly election in minimal phases

Ruling and Opposition parties of Bihar on Saturday (October 4, 2025) demanded the Election Commission of India (ECI) to complete the voting in a maximum of one or two phases in the upcoming Assembly election in Bihar.
