Enhancing road connectivity in Kerala, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has commenced work on developing five more national highway projects in the State.

In a communication to the State, the NHAI has informed that the procedures for preparing the project document for developing five more new national highways have been initiated, said Public Works Minister P.A. Mohamed Riyas here on Saturday.

The project document will be prepared to upgrade Ramanattukara-Kozhikode Airport Road, Kannur Airport Road (Chovva-Mattannur), Kodungallur-Angamaly, and Vypeen-Matsyafed Tourist Office Road to national highway status.

Along with this, a project document is being prepared for the construction of the Kothamangalam and Muvattupuzha bypasses on the Kochi-Madurai National Highway.
