After the culmination of a week-long Durga Puja festival, the immersion of idols began on Bijaya Dashami/ Dasara in West Bengal on Thursday (October 2, 2025). Amid overcast skies, idols made it to the ghats of Kolkata and were immersed in the river Hooghly. During the day, idols of mostly Bonedi Bari Pujas (traditional home-based pujas) were immersed in rivers and waterbodies.
