Large number of devotees waiting at Kulasekarapattinam sea shore to witness the soorasamharam

The coastal town Kulasekarapattinam in Thoothukudi district was flooded devotees travelling from various parts of the State to witness the Dasara celebration at Mutharamman temple in the town and Soosrasamharam, a celestial event commemorating the triumph of good over evil, to be conducted in the small hours of Friday.With each passing year, the Dasara festival at Mutharamman temple in Kulasekarapattinam has grown in grandeur and magnificence. This year, the temple’s 10-night festival began with a flag hosting ceremony on September 23. On the same day thousands of devotees, majorly from Thoothukudi, Kanniyakumari, Tenkasi and Tirunelveli districts adorned prayer beads to commence Dasara fasting.
