Residents, including women who had been agitating for months, alleged that untreated waste from the dialysis centre was being discharged into their locality. They accused the MLA of ignoring repeated complaints and failing to intervene despite being informed several times.The protest turned violent when the demonstrators confronted the MLA, leading to the attack.The police have been deployed in the area to prevent any escalation of tensions.The Chokli police registered a suo motu case against 25 people in connection with the incident.
