A couple who believe their baby son was attacked by Lucy Letby have spoken out in a new documentary about her strange behaviour when they feared he had died.
The parents told the Channel 4 film that the killer nurse brought them a memory box while they were anxiously awaiting news of their poorly newborn – then laughed when they wrongly assumed it meant he had passed away.
'I just saw the box and I burst into tears, I remember saying to her, "Oh my God is he dead?" and she just laughed,' the mother said in the programme, Lucy Letby: Murder or Mistake.
'She was laughing when she thought we thought the worst had happened.'
Their son was moved to a different hospital and his case investigated by Cheshire police, but never brought to trial.
