Britain will be forced to build its own ‘drone wall’ after European Union leaders froze UK military leaders out of talks.
Senior EU officials met alone yesterday to accelerate plans to defend the continent’s eastern flank, potentially leaving this country exposed.
Currently the UK’s drone capability is dwarfed by Russia with no Army regiments dedicated to the capability – despite unmanned platforms transforming the battlefield in Ukraine.
Meanwhile European countries – who are also NATO partners – are teaming up to build a drone wall following repeated incursions by Kremlin drones.
After invasions of Polish, Romanian, Estonian and Danish airspace in recent weeks, it emerged yesterday that drones were seen loitering near critical infrastructure in Germany.
