A three-year-old girl has been rushed to hospital after being mauled by a dog in west London.

The horror attack took place in broad daylight and has left the toddler with 'severe' injuries to her leg.

According to police, the owner fled the scene at Rectory Fields in Northolt, Ealing, on Wednesday, September 24, just after 12.45pm.

No arrests have been made and the breed of the dog is still unclear, the force added.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: 'Officers are investigating an alleged dog attack which occurred at around 12.50pm on Wednesday, September 24 in Rectory Fields, Ealing.
