Former GOP Rep. Madison Cawthorn announced on Wednesday that he is launching a new congressional bid.
“I’ve never backed down from a fight, and I won’t start now,” Cawthorn wrote on social media. “I’ll stand with President Trump, crush the woke Left, deport illegals, and help fix Florida’s broken insurance system.”
From 2021 to 2023, Cawthorn represented North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District as the youngest member of Congress, but lost renomination after several scandals, including allegations of sexual misconduct, being accused of insider trading and bringing a loaded gun to an airport.
Now, he’s attempting to return to Congress, this time to represent Florida.
A video appears on Cawthorn’s website announcing his new campaign.
