Praveer Ranjan takes charge as CISF DG; Praveen Kumar appointed ITBP chief

Praveer Ranjan assumed charge as Director General Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) got new chiefs on Tuesday (September 30, 2025) with senior IPS officers Praveer Ranjan and Praveen Kumar taking charge of the paramilitary forces.Mr. Ranjan, a 1993 batch IPS officer of the AGMUT cadre, assumed charge as Director General, CISF following the superannuation of R.S. Bhatti. He was serving as Special DG, CISF and heading the sensitive Airport Security division prior to his appointment.
