A woman has been charged with the murder of her three young children after their bodies were discovered in a quiet suburban home, police have revealed.

Yasmeen Ali, 43, is accused of killing her children — seven-year-old Fares Bash, three-year-old Joury Bash, and nine-month-old Mohammed Bash — in Sea Mills, Bristol.

The tragedy unfolded in Blaise Walk in February last year, with police now confirming that forensic post-mortem examinations found all three children had died from knife injuries.

Ali, who is currently under the care of mental health services, will appear in court at a later date, Avon and Somerset Police said.

In a statement, Chief Inspector Keith Smith said: 'This has been an extremely complex and highly sensitive investigation, resulting in charges being authorised by the Crown Prosecution Service.
