The police on Monday (September 29, 2025) arrested A. Sabeel, a native of Mundalur, Peralassery, Kannur, Kerala, in connection with the hi-tech cheating case reported during a Public Service Commission (PSC) examination in Kannur district.On Saturday, Sahad, a Secretariat Assistant, was caught using Bluetooth earphones and a miniature camera while attending the exam at Payyambalam Girls Higher Secondary School. The PSC Intelligence Wing, acting on a tip-off, conducted a surprise inspection at the centre.Sahad attempted to flee during the raid but was later apprehended.Following interrogation, his associate Sabeel was also taken into custody for allegedly aiding him in the malpractice.The police said further investigation was on to identify possible external links that facilitated the cheating attempt.
