Karur stampede: Family mourns loss of two-year-old baby, the youngest victim killed in the tragedy

The grief is overwhelming in a modest home at Vadivel Nagar, Velusamypuram, barely a hundred metres from the place where TVK leader and actor Vijay addressed a massive gathering on Saturday (September 27, 2025). It is here that the family of Thuruvishnu, just one year and ten months old, the youngest among the victims, is mourning his death in the stampede that claimed 40 lives.Vishnu was the only child of Vimal, 25, a daily-wage worker, and Matheswari, 22, who is speech- and hearing-impaired.
