The Kanakakunnu police in Alappuzha have arrested a woman for inflicted burns on her four-and-a-half-year-old son with a hot ladle at Kandalloor, near Kayamkulam.According to the police, the mother committed the act in rage when the child soiled his trousers. The boy suffered burns on his back and legs. The case was registered based on the statement of the child’s grandmother, who alleged that the mother inflicted burns on the child as punishment.Doctors alert policeThe injured boy was taken to the hospital by the mother herself. She reportedly told hospital authorities that the child sustained the burns while sitting on a chapati stone.However, doctors grew suspicious of the injuries and alerted the police and the Child Welfare Committee.
