Heavy rainfall in Hyderabad flooded low-lying areas disrupting traffic flow on Friday morning. Water logging was reported in Begumpet, Maitrivanam and other parts of the city. In Miyapur, pipeline road near the MHM railway under bridge was closed due to inundation. At Katedan, the Old Kurnool road railway underpass was flooded, with teams clearing clogged drains to restore flow.Police and Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) teams deployed with dewatering pumps to speed up clearance at critical points.Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in 17 districts of Telangana on Saturday (September 27, 2025). And the remaining 16 districts may receive heavy rainfall. 17 districts under orange alertThe orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall was issued for isolated places in Nirmal, Nizamabad, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal.16 districts under yellow alertThe 16 districts under yellow alert for heavy rainfall are Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Rangareddy, Hyderabad and Medchal-Malkajigiri districts.Hyderabad weather forecastHyderabad and its surrounding areas may receive moderate to heavy rain or thundershowers accompanied with gusty winds (40-50 kmph) over the next 48 hours, according to the bulletin issued on Friday afternoon.
