Worli MLA Aaditya Thackeray is scheduled to address the media and present data that alleges irregularities in the electoral rolls during the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections.“Our party has found many chinks in the armour and it will bring them out very soon…We will organise a press conference with the data we are working on right now. We are putting it together,” he added. He confirmed that the press conferences would be similar to those conducted by Rahul Gandhi and he would be providing information on poll irregularities. He refused to confirm if the press conference will be held before the civic body polls later this year. He said, “Let me not leak it. We cannot let out the timings of the surgical strike.”Also Read | Rahul Gandhi’s vote theft charges ‘baseless’: Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath ShindeMr. Gandhi has already held two press conferences in New Delhi, the first alleging the addition of voters with questionable background details, for which he showed the electoral rolls of the Mahadevapura assembly constituency in Karnataka as evidence. In the second media briefing, he alleged that the Aland constituency in Karnataka and Rajura in Maharashtra saw “systematic deletion” of votes and that this was done in a centralised manner. The ECI, however, dubbed the allegations as “incorrect and baseless” and said, “No deletion of any vote can be done online by any member of the public, as conceived by Gandhi.”Speaking about the imposition of Hindi on the Marathi-speaking people of Maharashtra and the resultant incidents of violence, he said that they were “sporadic” in nature. “You can’t control every sporadic incident when someone gets angry over abuse. There will be a natural reaction, if at all. It’s a sporadic reaction,” Mr. Thackeray said. About attacks on non-Marathi speakers, he said there was undue focus on those incidents. “Why don’t you show the incidents where people from Mumbai or Marathi people have been denied a house because they are non-vegetarians?” he asked.
