Sept. 25 (UPI) -- Artificial intelligence company xAI's Grok application now will be cheaply available for federal government use, adding to the growing list of companies getting their AI models into the hands of government agencies.

The U.S. General Services Administration announced the agreement Thursday as part of its OneGov initiative. The service will cost $0.42 per organization for 18 months, a press release said.

The company xAI is owned by Elon Musk, friend of President Donald Trump and former head of the Department of Government Efficiency.

The agreement includes access to Grok 4 and Grok 4 Fast, xAI's advanced reasoning models. Also, xAI said it is committing dedicated engineers to help agencies implement these AI tools into their workstreams, the release said.
