Sept. 24 (UPI) -- London Mayor Sadiq Khan has denied President Donald Trump's claim that the mayor wants to impose Islamic sharia law in England's capital city.

The president made the claim while addressing the U.N. General Assembly in New York City on Tuesday, which prompted Khan to call Trump "racist, sexist and Islamophobic," while denying the claim, The Telegraph reported.

"People are wondering what it is about this Muslim mayor who leads a liberal, multicultural, progressive, successful city, that means I appear to be living rent-free in Donald Trump's head," Khan told reporters on Wednesday.

"President Trump has shown he is racist, he is sexist, he is misogynistic, and he is Islamophobic," Khan added.
