Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Speaking Wednesday before the U.N. General Assembly, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on the international community to assist his country in its fight against Russia, warning that advances in weapon technology are putting the entirety of Europe under threat.
Zelensky said history has shown that Russia won't stop driving the war "wider and deeper" across Europe unless it's defeated.
"We have already lost Georgia in Europe. Human rights and the European nature of the state system are only shrinking there," he said.
"Georgia is dependent on Russia, and for many, many years Belarus has also been moving towards dependence on Russia."
