In a first-of-its-kind initiative, the Thiagarajar School of Management (TSM) has planned to organise a novel event - ‘PenmAI 2025’ on September 26, said TSM principal Selvalakshmi on Wednesday.Speaking to reporters, she said that the objective was to bring together 2,025 women marking the year 2025. This symbolises a bold leap towards gender inclusivity in the technology eco-system.Associate Professor N. Manjula said that the ‘PenmAI’ would collectively build AI-powered tools. With the support and guidance from the StartupTN and Google Developers, they have made elaborate arrangements for the participants, including internet and other facilities.There has been a tremendous response from many southern districts that the number of registrations had crossed the targeted 2025 and the TSM is set to make it a historic event, she said and added that with the support of Google Developers, the best apps would be uploaded.The idea of organising ‘PenmAI’ was to create awareness about the AI, branding Madurai and to bring out the hidden talents from the young women. Learning about the technology helps in multiple ways and entrepreneurs can be from every household.Readers’ Society launchedThe Readers’ Society, a literary club was inaugurated at the TSM by its Director Murali Sambasivan. He highlighted the importance of literary engagement in management education.Principal Dr. Selvalakshmi said that the Readers’ Society would act as a vibrant platform for students to exchange ideas, sharpen their perspectives and develop leadership skills.Chief Librarian A. Sheik Maideen said that they planned to host a range of activities including book discussion, author interaction and debates aiming to create a community of thoughtful and action oriented readers with the institution.
