President Trump has privately assured Arab and Muslim leaders that he will not allow Israel to annex the West Bank.
Trump was adamant during a meeting with eight Middle East leaders in New York on Tuesday night that Israel would not be allowed to co-opt land governed by the Palestinian Authority, two sources close to the talks told the Politico news site.
Trump and his team were also reported to have presented a document outlining their plan to end the war in Gaza, including details for a permanent ceasefire, future governance and postwar security.
Some of America’s allies in the Middle East have previously expressed disappointment with Trump’s continued support for Israel
