European shares ended the day slightly lower on Wednesday, although defense stocks received a boost from U.S. President Donald Trump’s latest comments on the conflict in Ukraine.
The pan-European Stoxx 600
provisionally ended the day down 0.14%, paring some losses from earlier in the session.
Defense stocks were among the top performers, with the Stoxx Europe Aerospace and Defense Index gaining around 1.3%.
Germany’s Renk and Hensoldt both added around 8%, and Sweden’s Saab gained almost 5.5%.
