The punk singer Bobby Vylan has been condemned for fronting a “shameful” campaign calling for a Europe-wide boycott of Israel’s national and club football teams and Israeli players.
The demands will fuel concerns that protests against Israel’s actions in Gaza will be used to promote antisemitic discrimination.
Vylan, the lead singer of the band Bob Vylan, whose real name is Pascal Robinson-Foster, appears in a promotional video for the Game Over Israel campaign. He says: “Now is your time to put pressure on the Football Association, the European federations that represent you and your countries that the Israel national team, the local teams and the players themselves never set foot on UK or European pitches.”

Any such ban would impact multiple players across Europe, including Manor Solomon, 26, who plays for Tottenham Hotspur and is currently on loan to the Spanish club Villarreal.
