A man accused of holding his stepdaughter captive for 22 years and fathering three of her children has denied multiple charges - including chilling claims he forced her to have sex with other men.
'The abuser denied all the accusations. During questioning at the police station, he said it was all lies and that he lives for his family,' the police chief in the Brazilian town where the case is unfolding told local media.
The 51-year-old suspect has been in custody since last week, after the 29-year-old victim escaped and told authorities she had been abused by him since she was seven.
Investigators say she endured decades of sexual violence, including being coerced into sex with strangers and watched constantly on surveillance cameras inside the home.
The woman reportedly managed to break free by telling her alleged abuser she needed to visit a health clinic — but instead went straight to police.
