Unsuspecting Brits are being scammed out of thousands of pounds by a growing number of 'manipulative' black market betting sites.

Innocent-looking games are regular phone pop-ups, and while many may think they are harmless, they are luring gambling addicts, children and unassuming punters onto illicit sites.

Betting sites masquerading as puzzle and adventure games entice 'vulnerable' users in with free flutters and big cash pots.

And while others of these unregulated sites may admit to being betting apps, they use vibrant colours and characters in a bid to draw people in.

Using brightly coloured virtual fruit machines, roulette wheels or straight sports bets, these dodgy sites attempt to come across as fun children's games rather than betting platforms.
