San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa will miss the rest of the season after tearing the ACL in his right knee, coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed to reporters on Monday.
Results of an MRI exam Monday revealed the tear, after the team was uncertain about the severity of the injury following Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals. Although the team held out hope, Shanahan said the news was not a surprise to Bosa.
“He had a pretty good idea of what we were going to find out today,” the coach said. “(As a guy) who’s (torn his ACL) two times before, he was pretty confident that he did it. You could tell from him walking on the field, his face, and you could tell talking to him last night.”
