Two Central Committee members of the banned Communist Party of India (Maoist) [CPI (Maoist)] were gunned down by security forces in an anti-Naxal operation conducted inside Abujhmad forests in Chhattisgarh’s Narayanpur district on Monday (September 22, 2025).
In a post on X, Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that the two Maoists leaders, Katta Ramachandra Reddy and Kadari Satyanarayana Reddy, were killed along the Chhattisgarh-Maharashtra border. A Chhattisgarh Police release added that both were in their sixties and they carried an award of ₹40 lakh each announced by the Chhattisgarh government.
