The Tamil Nadu Untouchability Eradication Front, All India Agricultural Workers Union, and All India Democratic Women’s Association on Monday staged a protest against construction of an ‘untouchability wall’ at Kovilpathu village in the district.
The organisations alleged that a public pathway used by Scheduled Caste residents of Ward 14 had been blocked by the construction of a wall by a private real estate owner of Selvamani Nagar. The protesters urged the authorities to remove the wall and restore access to the road.
