Rana Jabarin offers breakfasts and pastries from the tabun oven in her new family-run restaurant in Umm al-Fahm. She's still waiting for Jewish customers

The new breakfast for two at Mama'esh Zaatar, a new homestyle restaurant in Umm al-Fahm, is served on a large platter. Numerous round saucers are filled with tuna salad, pastrami and yoghurt with granola, alongside typical Arab-Palestinian dishes, such as labneh balls (soft white cheese) with olive oil; za'atar mix (a typical dried herb blend); fried Jibneh cheese; pickled olives; makdous (pickled eggplant stuffed with walnuts) and various homemade jams.
