Broadcast legend John Stapleton said he's 'not looking forward to becoming a prisoner' as he spoke of his Parkinson's in a moving final interview before his death.
Mr Stapleton, who presented on programmes including Newsnight, Panorama and GMTV's News Hour during a remarkable TV career which spanned nearly five decades, passed away peacefully in hospital early this morning.
His death occurred aged 79 after getting pneumonia, which can be a complication of Parkinson's.
In an emotional final TV interview just months before he passed, he opened up about his battles with the disease.
He said on BBC One's Morning Live: 'I've still got the tremor, which is difficult and makes dressing a bit of a challenge some mornings.
