Anna Hall won her first heptathlon world title with a stunning 6,888-point performance at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.

The 24-year-old, who was leading after four events on Day 1, capped the seven events with a run of 2 minutes, 6.68 seconds over 800 meters on Saturday, the quickest time in the field.

She also threw personal bests in the javelin (48.13m) and shot put (15.80m), tied the best high-jump performance (1.89m), ran the second-quickest 200m time (23.50s) and the third-fastest 100m hurdles (13.05s).

Hall, who went third on the all-time list earlier this year when she broke 7,000pts in Gotzis, Austria, brings the U.S. its first world championship heptathlon gold since Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Hall’s mentor, in 1993.
