Delhi should aim to become the “best destination” for education in the country and abroad, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said on Friday, asserting that the Capital’s future lies in strengthening its academic ecosystem.
She was speaking at the inauguration of a newly built multi-storey academic building named after Swami Vivekananda at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University Delhi’s (AUD) Karampura campus in west Delhi.
The new academic complex is a state-of-the-art facility with 18 smart classrooms, two seminar rooms, five laboratories, and an IT hub.
“When it comes to industry, Delhi has many dos and don’ts due to pollution. So, if we want to take the national capital forward, it should become synonymous with good schools, colleges, and universities. For anyone within or outside the country looking for a degree, Delhi should emerge as the best destination,” Ms. Gupta said.
The Chief Minister underlined that students from Delhi should not feel compelled to seek higher education elsewhere.
