Residents in a stunning picturesque village have vowed to fight 'tooth and nail' against plans to build ten new homes in the area.

The controversial plans involve demolishing a historic hall and vicarage to make room for the new properties in Robertsbridge, east Sussex.

Locals say life will 'never be the same again' in the village, which has a population of around 2,600 people and is famous for the manufacturing of Gray Nicolls cricket bats.

Other locals believe existing homes could be 'wrecked' by the plans.

Council records show that the developers behind the project, Geko Development, initially submitted plans last year for ten new homes including four two-bedroom houses, four 3-bedroom houses, and three four-bedroom houses.
