Accused child killer Travis Decker has been found dead in dense wilderness three months after he allegedly killed his three daughters and went on the run, police believe.

The Washington father has been missing since early June, after he allegedly suffocated his daughters, Paityn, 9, Evelyn, 8, and Olivia, five, prior to a custody exchange with his ex-wife in Leavenworth, Washington state.

On Thursday night, the Chelan County Sheriff's Office announced officers have found remains during the ongoing search.

The body was found in a remote wooded area near Leavenworth, where there have been coordinated efforts to track Decker down.

'While positive identification has not yet been confirmed, preliminary findings suggest the remains belong to Travis Decker,' a statement from the Chelan County Sheriff's Office reads.
