Several routes on the railway line between Paddington station and Southall are blocked this evening to a 'failure of the electricity supply'.

Photos show hundreds of commuters queuing to get on to the Elizabeth Line after the entrance to the Tube was shut due to overcrowding.

National Rail said disruption was expected until the end of the day - with Heathrow Express, Great Western Railway and Elizabeth Line services affected.

Great Western Railway has advised passengers not to 'attempt to travel' between London Paddington and Reading at this time.
