Speedboat killer Jack Shepherd is said to be back in jail only a year-and-a-half after being freed from his time behind bars for killing his Tinder date in a booze-fuelled crash on the Thames.Shepherd, 37, was sentenced to six years in prison after killing his 24-year-old date Charlotte Brown in December 2015. The web developer had taken her on a high-speed ride on a defective speedboat past the Houses of Parliament after a £150 date at a restaurant at the Shard. After falling in the water, she was swept away while Shepherd was rescued from the water. Shepherd, who lived on a houseboat in Hammersmith, had previously practiced the seduction routine on a string of women before Charlotte's death. He fled to Georgia and was jailed for six years for manslaughter by gross negligence at the Old Bailey in his absence in July 2018.Eventually, he was extradited to the UK after handing himself in to Georgian police 10 months later. He was also sentenced to an additional four years after admitting to smashing a bottle over the head of Devon barman, David Beech. He also later lost an appeal against his manslaughter conviction in June 2019. In January, Shepherd was released from HMP Dovegate in Staffordshire after serving half of his sentence. Charlotte's father, Graham Brown, has since told The Sun that Shepherd is 'back where he belongs.'While saying prison was the best place for the killer, the 61-year-old added: 'I've always believed that Shepherd is a narcissist. He’s never shown remorse for his part in the death of my daughter.'Describing the pain he feels daily due to the loss of his beloved daughter, Mr Brown added: 'I’ll never forgive him and still believe he poses a risk to females.'According to the publication, Shepherd's victim David Beech, who is an ex-soldier, did not know the killer was back behind bars.An HMPPS spokesperson said: 'As this case shows, we do not hesitate to send offenders back to prison if they break the rules.'Shepherd had previously insisted that Charlotte was at the wheel when his boat hit a log and capsized near Wandsworth Bridge, implying that she was partly to blame. Charlotte was killed when Shepherd took her on a high speed ride past the Houses of Parliament in his defective speedboat Jack Shepherd has now been jailed yet again - only 18 months after his release - after he breached his license conditionsBut a witness on the balcony of a riverside flat challenged his story by saying she saw a single figure at the helm looking into the water, before the boat hit a pier.Charlotte who lived in London, but grew up in Welling, Kent, was found to be only slightly over the drink-drive limit for alcohol after her body was recovered while rescuers said Shepherd appeared drunk. His trial heard how he had bought vodka, before sharing two bottles of wine with Charlotte at the Shard and downing champagne on his boat which he had bought on Gumtree. His return to prison comes after Mr Brown warned last year that Shepherd should not be freed.
