Keir Starmer last night reappointed a Labour MP to a ministerial role - having fired her from it just nine days previously.
Lilian Greenwood was sacked as a parliamentary under-secretary of state in the Department for Transport (DfT) and made a government whip on September 7 as part of the reshuffle that followed the resignation of Angela Rayner.
But last night Ms Greenwood confirmed she had also been reappointed as a parliamentary under-secretary of state in the DfT after less than a fortnight away.
The department tweeted a 'welcome back' message for the 59-year-old Nottingham South MP, to which she responded with a clip of a woman dancing.
She added: 'Delighted to be reappointed to the (DfT) in a new role as Local Transport Minister.
