A woman who killed herself and her friend when she crashed her car on the way home from a Halloween party had been high on ecstasy and was anxious about driving in Britain, an inquest heard.

Sara Pancas, 38, died from head injuries two days after hitting a kerb and smashing her black Mini One into a tree beside the A11 at Ketteringham, Norfolk.

Meanwhile, backseat passenger Sara Ribeiro, 29, who lived with Ms Pancas in a flat in Thetford, died at the scene of the accident which occurred just after 5am on November 3.

The pair, who were born in Portugal, had been on their way home after attending the party at Kudos nightclub in Norwich with two other friends, Anna Dias and Vladmira Silva.

Toxicology tests found the 38-year-old had 14 times the legal limit for ecstasy, with Norfolk Coroner's Court hearing how it was also uncovered that she had cannabis in her system.
