Sir Keir Starmer was today urged to clean out the ‘rotten’ culture inside No10 after it emerged one of his aides had sent sexually explicit messages about Diane Abbott.
Paul Ovenden quit his role as the Prime Minister’s Director of Strategy yesterday when old messages emerged in which he relayed lewd jokes about the veteran MP.
Ms Abbott broke her silence on the remarks yesterday, describing the messages as ‘very unpleasant’.
She likened them to those revealed by the Martin Forde inquiry into allegations of bullying, racism and sexism within the Labour Party three years ago, the Guardian reported.
Mr Ovenden had exchanged messages in 2017 with a former colleague retelling a story about a game of ‘shag, marry, kill’ relating to Ms Abbott.
