Two Just Stop Oil activists broke into one of the UK’s busiest airports and sprayed orange paint on two private jets, a court heard today.
Jennifer Kowalski, 29, and Cole Macdonald, 23, are said to have cut through a perimeter fence at Stansted Airport before allegedly causing criminal damage with paint loaded into fire extinguishers.
They are then said to have sat down and held hands on the taxi-way next to the aircraft.
The alleged incident happened hours after a jet chartered by Taylor Swift – who was in London at the time for a series of concerts at Wembley Stadium as part of her record-breaking Eras tour - landed at the Essex airport.
Kowalski and Macdonald appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court today for the start of a trial, having denied causing criminal damage.
