U.N. investigators say Israel committing ‘genocide’ in Gaza; Israel rejects ‘distorted and false report’
A United Nations Commission of Inquiry concluded on Tuesday (September 16, 2025) that Israel has committed genocide in Gaza and that top Israeli officials including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had incited these acts. It cites examples of the scale of the killings, aid blockages, forced displacement and the destruction of a fertility clinic to back up its genocide finding, adding its voice to rights groups and others that have reached the same conclusion. Reacting to the latest development, Israel categorically rejected the “distorted and false report” and called for “the immediate abolition of this Commission of Inquiry.” Meanwhile, the Israeli Ambassador rejected the findings as a “libelous rant.”
Heavy rains cause floods in Dehradun’s Sahastradhara; two missing
Heavy rains on Monday night (September 15, 2025) caused floods in Dehradun’s Sahastradhara area, damaging roads and requiring the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) to carry out rescue operations to help those left stranded. Two people were reported missing after floods hit the Uttarakhand district. The SDRF had to rescue over 100 people, including students of Devbhoomi institute. Disaster Management Secretary Vinod Kumar Suman said damage have been reported from Sahastradhara and Mal Devta in Dehradun, and also from Mussoorie.
