Sept. 15 (UPI) -- DNA sequencing in last week's shooting death of Turning Point founder Charlie Kirk links suspect Tyler Robinson to the crime, FBI director Kash Patel said.
Charges are expected to be filed Tuesday in Utah County, Utah, against Robinson.
"I can report today that the DNA hits from the towel that was wrapped around the firearm and the DNA on the screwdriver are positively processed for the suspect in custody," said Patel said Monday on a Fox broadcast.
Kirk, 31, was initially reported to be in critical condition after the shooting and was removed from the stage by security while bleeding out the neck and taken to a hospital. Soon after, President Donald Trump announced Kirk's death on social media.
