A champion figure skater has died after being run over by a lorry while cycling in Austria.
Julia Marie Gaiser, 23, was struck by a turning lorry while riding on a bike route in Salzburg.
She was struck at around 2.30pm on Thursday while trying to continue across an intersection as the lorry turned right, into her path.
Emergency responders were unable to resuscitate the young athlete, who died at the scene, according to the Red Cross.
Local authorities launched an investigation into the accident. A breathalyzer test on the truck driver showed negative.
