Trump: Israel must be very careful, Qatar has been a great ally of the U.S.

U.S. President Donald Trump praised Qatar as a strong U.S. ally while commenting on Israel's recent strike against Hamas leaders in Doha.

Speaking at a New Jersey airport before returning to Washington, Trump said Israel must "be very careful" and take action against Hamas, but emphasized Qatar's importance. "Qatar has been a great ally to the U.S. A lot of people don't know that. The emir is a wonderful person, actually," he said.

Asked about his message to the Qatari prime minister, Trump reiterated support for Doha, saying, "Look, we're with them. They've been a great ally. They also lead a very difficult life because they're right in the middle of everything." He added that Qatar needed to maintain political caution, but insisted, "They've been a great ally for the United States."
